Hey {{First name|there}}! It’s Aaron.

AI can now create more, work for us, and even access our creative tools.

But as it gets easier to make almost anything, a new question is emerging: what’s actually worth our attention?

Here’s what caught my attention this week.

📌TL;DR

  • Attention is the new challenge. AI makes creating easy. Standing out is getting harder.

  • AI can work for you, but it still needs you. HeyGen’s AI clone closed 132 customers and made some costly mistakes.

  • Creative tools are becoming conversational. Adobe is bringing 70+ Creative Cloud tools into ChatGPT — the interface is changing faster than the tools.

CATCH OF THE DAY

AI Solved One Problem. It Created Another.

This week, Snapchat announced that it will stop recommending videos that are entirely generated by AI.

Not because it wants to reject AI.

In fact, it said AI still has an important role in the creative process. Content enhanced with AI can still be recommended. What it wants to reward is something else: original perspectives, personal storytelling, and authentic creativity.

That got me thinking.

For years, creating content was the hard part.

You needed the right skills, the right software, and enough time to turn an idea into something worth sharing.

AI solved that problem almost overnight.

Today, almost anyone can write an article, generate an image, or produce a video in minutes.

But in solving one problem, AI quietly created another.

Creating has never been easier. Being discovered has never been harder.

Every day, thousands of new AI-generated posts, videos and images are published online. The amount of content keeps growing, but our attention doesn't.

We all still have the same 24 hours.

The challenge isn't creating anymore.

It's creating something people choose to pay attention to.

I feel this every week while putting together Bytesize Quest.

There are dozens of AI announcements to sort through.

New models. New tools. New features.

Most never make it into the newsletter. Not because they aren't interesting. But because I keep asking myself one question.

Will this still matter after the excitement fades?

A year ago, finding AI news was the challenge. Today, the challenge is deciding what deserves someone's attention.

Finding information isn't difficult anymore. Finding signal amongst the noise is.

Maybe that's what Snapchat recognised.

A platform flooded with repetitive AI-generated content isn't good for creators, and it isn't good for the platform either. Rewarding originality helps everyone discover content that's actually worth watching.

Whether other platforms follow remains to be seen.

But I do think this points to something bigger.

As AI removes the barriers to creating, our attention becomes even more valuable.

Perhaps the people who stand out won't be the ones creating the most.

They'll be the ones helping others make sense of everything else.

The Final Byte

AI has made creating easier than ever.

The harder problem is deciding what deserves attention.

Not to create more than everyone else. But to create something worth paying attention to.

See you in the next one,

BYTE-SIZED BUZZ

Here’s a quick roundup of what’s making waves in the AI world this week.

HeyGen co-founder Wayne Liang used an AI clone to handle customer calls while he was on paternity leave. Over eight weeks, it spoke with 2,741 prospects, closed 132 paying customers, and generated around US$3 million in annual contract value (ACV) pipeline before a few costly mistakes highlighted the need for human oversight.

The Big Deal: AI is becoming capable of representing us, but it still needs human judgment. The real skill isn't replacing yourself. It's knowing what you should never delegate.

Adobe has launched a unified ChatGPT plugin that gives users conversational access to more than 70 Creative Cloud tools, including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Firefly, and Lightroom, while handing off advanced editing to Adobe's desktop apps.

The Big Deal: Creative software is becoming more accessible than ever. As the tools become easier to use, your ideas and creative direction become what truly set your work apart.

Disney and TikTok have announced a U.S. pilot that will let a selected group of creators use approved characters and scenes from franchises like Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars in short-form videos, with selected clips also appearing on Disney+ Verts.

The Big Deal: When Disney hands characters to creators rather than protecting them from creators, it signals something important. Attention lives where creators are. Even the biggest IP owners are starting to follow it there.

OpenAI is rolling out GPT-5.6 Luna as the default model for Free and Go users, bringing unlimited text chats and a new Think button that gives the model more time to reason through complex questions.

The Big Deal: Advanced AI capabilities are becoming the default rather than a premium feature. The gap is no longer access to AI, but knowing how to use it effectively.

Black Forest Labs has released FLUX 3 Video, a multimodal model that generates up to 20-second HD videos with synchronised audio from text or image prompts. Open-weight versions are planned for later in 2026.

The Big Deal: Making videos is becoming easier. Making videos people remember isn't. As AI lowers the barrier to creation, creativity becomes the real differentiator.
