Claude Beats GPT-5 in Spreadsheets and Slides
Anthropic’s AI just got file-creation powers, and Microsoft wants in.
Hey there! It’s Aaron.
AI can write your scripts and edit your videos, but when it comes to the stuff that actually runs your business… like building a budget spreadsheet or pulling together a client deck… you're still burning hours and YouTube tutorials just to get it right.
That's about to change.
Here's what we are cooking this week:
📌TL;DR
Microsoft + Claude: Microsoft is testing Claude in Office 365 after it beat GPT-5 at spreadsheets and slides.
Google Veo 3: Vertical video, 1080p, and lower prices make it a stronger rival for TikTok-style content.
OpenAI’s Film: A $30M AI-made movie, Critterz, aims to finish in 9 months instead of 3 years.

CATCH OF THE DAY
Microsoft Lets Claude Into the Office

Source: Anthropic
Ever spent half an hour wrestling with an Excel formula, only to give up and Google it? Or sat through death-by-PowerPoint, wishing there was an easier way to turn notes into a decent deck?
Turns out, Microsoft noticed too. And the solution might not come from OpenAI’s GPT-5 but from Anthropic’s Claude.
According to The Information, Microsoft is preparing to bring Claude into Office 365, the same suite creators and knowledge workers use daily. In internal tests, Claude’s latest Sonnet 4 models proved better than GPT-5 at building spreadsheets and presentations. Translation: Claude isn’t just crunching numbers, it’s producing cleaner reports and more polished decks.
Anthropic also rolled out a major upgrade to Claude. It can now create and edit Excel sheets, Word docs, PowerPoints, and PDFs directly in chat. No more copying and pasting between an AI window and your actual files. Need a budget tracker with working formulas? Meeting notes turned into slides? A PDF converted into a formatted document? Claude can do that in one shot.
Here’s why this matters for creators: publishing content is only half the job. There are campaign reports, pitch decks, and lead magnet PDFs that take just as much time but don’t bring the same satisfaction. If Microsoft integrates Claude into Copilot, it could finally take the grind out of those tasks.
There are limits. The new file features are rolling out slowly, with enterprise and team users getting them first. Anthropic has also cautioned about risks when giving Claude internet access. And Microsoft isn’t dropping OpenAI, just adding another option. In short, the productivity AI wars have moved into the files we use every day.
The Final Byte
This isn’t just corporate strategy between Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic. It’s a shift in how we work. If AI can handle the unglamorous parts of the job—spreadsheets, reports, endless slide decks—it frees us to focus on the creative work only we can deliver.
The question isn’t whether Claude will land in your Office apps. It’s how soon you’ll trust it with the tasks you secretly dread.
See you in the next one,

Here’s a quick roundup of what’s making waves in the AI world this week.
🎬 OpenAI Backs ‘Critterz’ Animated AI Film
OpenAI is funding Critterz, a $30M animated movie made with GPT-5, Sora, and DALL·E, aiming to finish in just nine months instead of the usual three years. Human artists and actors are still involved, but AI is doing most of the heavy lifting.
The Big Deal: Hollywood is watching closely. For creators, this is a sign that AI can speed up big productions — but the real test will be whether audiences accept AI-made stories as authentic entertainment.
📱 Google Veo 3 Adds Vertical + 1080p
Google’s Veo 3 and Veo 3 Fast now support vertical 9:16 video, 1080p for 16:9, and a big price drop ($0.40/sec → $0.15–0.40). Perfect for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts creators.
The Big Deal: Affordable, mobile-friendly HD video is finally here. For creators, it means polished, social-ready clips without blowing your budget on renders.
🎮 Roblox Launches ‘Moments’
Roblox is rolling out a TikTok-style feed for 30-second gameplay clips, plus AI tools to generate 3D objects and real-time voice translation. Top creators are already earning close to $1M annually.
The Big Deal: Roblox is evolving into both a game and a social platform. For creators, this is another signal that building content inside Roblox could become as lucrative as building for YouTube.
🤖 OpenAI Says It Can Fix Hallucinations
A new research paper explains why ChatGPT often “guesses” answers — current benchmarks reward bluffing instead of honesty. The fix? Penalize wrong answers and reward “I don’t know.”
The Big Deal: Smarter incentives mean more trustworthy AI. For creators, this could reduce misinformation and give you assistants that admit uncertainty instead of making things up.
🎙️ Inception Point AI Floods Podcasts
A new startup is producing 3,000 AI-hosted podcasts weekly at $1 per episode, covering everything from weather to niche hobbies. Critics call it AI slop; the founder calls critics “lazy luddites.”
The Big Deal: The flood of AI-generated audio may lower the bar on quantity, but it raises the premium on human-made quality. For creators, your authentic voice just got more valuable.
📚 AI in Education Goes Mainstream
From Stanford to Singapore, schools are testing AI in classrooms despite warnings about “cognitive debt” from overuse. Instead of bans, educators are finding ways to integrate tools into learning.
The Big Deal: Education is a testing ground for AI’s long-term impact. For creators, it’s a reminder that audience learning styles are shifting — and adapting your content to support smarter, lighter learning could be a competitive edge.
📝 ElevenLabs Introduces Voice Remixing
ElevenLabs just added a new feature that lets users tweak voices — adjusting pitch, tone, or style — on both designed and custom voices.
The Big Deal: This makes voiceovers more flexible and personal. For creators, it’s a way to fine-tune your audio brand without hiring multiple voice actors or re-recording from scratch.
